American Express taps Chenault

American Express Co. named Ken Chenault president-chief operating officer, a post vacant since 1995, from vice chairman and member of the office of the chief executive. Mr. Chenault will retain responsibility for global advertising and brand management and will succeed Harvey Golub as CEO of American Express Travel Related Services. Mr. Golub remains chairman-CEO of parent American Express Co.
