Ameritech joins Internet fray

Published on .

Ameritech Corp. on Thursday unveiled its Internet access product, called Ameritech.net, almost a year later than originally planned. It will be available in Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit. The last of the Baby Bells to offer an Internet access product, Ameritech, like most other Internet service providers, sells its service for $19.95 per month for unlimited use, among other plans. The service will be bundled with the Netscape Navigator browser and will also offer Web site reviews from Excite. Print, TV, radio and interactive advertising from Leap Partnership, Chicago, launch later this month.
