AmEx signs Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart Stores will begin accepting the American Express Card and the Optima Card at its 2,300 outlets beginning Wednesday. AmEx said in the past year, more than 14,000 cardmembers have asked AmEx to sign on Wal-Mart, the nation's leading retailer. Separately, American Express on Tuesday unveiled the Corporate Platinum Card, which provides free companion tickets on major airlines for users, plus exclusive amenities at hotels and restaurants and instant cash withdrawals of up to $10,000. The annual fee (tax-deductible): $300.
