Ancestry.com evolves into MyFamily.com

Published on .

Ancestry.com, an online resource for connecting families, has changed its company name to MyFamily.com. The name change more accurately articulates the company's strategy to create the largest and most active online community in the world for families, the company said. Its three Internet services will retain their brand names and independent functionality, but MyFamily.com, a provider of free private Web sites for families, will become the master brand for the company. Ancestry.com, a resource for tracing family histories online, and FamilyHistory.com, the free genealogy message board service, will remain parts of the MyFamily.com family.
