NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Anheuser-Busch's internal media buying and planning division, Busch Media Group, has expanded overseas for the first time, opening offices in the U.K.

The unit will handle all media duties for Budwieser, Michelob and Bud Ice in the U.K. and will supervise all Anheuser-Busch media activity throughout Europe, a spokesman said.

The business was previously handled by Omnicom Group's OMD UK.

Busch Media Group was orginally launched in the U.S. in 1985 to handle national TV and local radio buying. In 1992 it took over all of the brewer's media planning and buying, including sports sponsorships and advertising for Busch Gardens and Sea World theme parks.
