, Vienna, Va., launched an eight-channel all-original programs area Tuesday called The Hub inside its online service. Created as a joint venture with New Line Television, the area features at least 25 original programs and is geared to an 18-to-38 year-old demographic. AOL President Ted Leonsis said The Hub will launch its programs in other media, including TV, and "do to traditional media what traditional media had been doing to new media." One channel within the Hub, called "Plug," will be an all-advertising/merchandising area designed to appeal to teens. AOL will make available new rates by month-end.
