AOL inks deal with United Artists

America Online and United Artists Theatre Circuit, a national theater chain, have created an alliance to expand moviegoers' ability to get information and tickets for United Artists theaters nationwide through AOL brands. United Artists will get premier positioning on AOL MovieFone, a national movie listing guide and ticketing service. This is the first theater chain alliance announced by AOL since acquiring MovieFone in May. AOL MovieFone will upgrade United Artists' existing site and host and maintain a Web service for United Artists at uatc.com. The site will include show times and real-time ticketing through Moviefone.com, and will be hosted and supported by AOL. AOL will have the ability to integrate marketing programs across the United Artists chain of theaters through onscreen presence.
