America Online and Medscape, a provider of online health and medical information, formed a three-year, $33 million strategic alliance to leverage Medscape's consumer-based health information, including the soon-to-be-launched consumer health site CBS Medscape, developed with CBS Corp. Under the deal, Medscape's consumer-focused content will be introduced to all AOL services by late fall. Medscape will provide AOL with payments totaling $33 million over three years; AOL will receive warrants to purchase shares in Medscape. Cross-promotions among AOL, Medscape and CBS will help support.
