AOL's Digital City partners with the Weather Channel

America Online's Digital City network of community guides entered a strategic alliance with the Weather Channel's Web site in a deal announced Nov. 18. Digital City's local content will be positioned in Weather.com's local content area. Conversely, Weather.com will provide local weather news and information to most of Digital City's 50 sites.

AOL also introduced a new holiday Shopping Channel with more than 110 commerce partners, selling 5 million products. Retailers include Barnes & Noble, Eddie Bauer Inc., FAO Schwarz and J. Crew. Seasonal promotions include the Perfect Gift, a specialty store to help people with gift suggestions at various price categories, Gift Finder and Deals & Steals, a way to offer shoppers time-based discount offers.
