AOL shakes with CBS over $23 mil deal

America Online and CBS SportsLine have struck a three-year, $23 million deal to expand their current partnership. CBS SportsLine will now become the premier sports news and commerce partner on AOL U.S.; an anchor tenant on CompuServe; primary sports source for AOL Internation and Digital City; and anchor tenant on AOL.com. AOL in turn receives "prominent" CBS on-air promotion. In other AOL news, the company joined forces with Bertelsmann A.G. to launch AOL in Australia. AOL currently has 1.5 million members outside the U.S. Also today, AOL relaunched its Web site AOL.com with new features including instant messenger version 2.0, My News and Hometown AOL.
