The appointment is part of the agency's efforts to consolidate its base, increase value-added elements for clients and renew its plans for new business, Mexico City-based APL says.
During 1998, APL created two other new posts: strategic planning "coach" and client service "coach."
Mr. Filshill joins the Mexico office from Bogota, where he was the president of APL's Colombian agency. He is respon-sible for handling the Unilever, Iridium, Johnson & Johnson, Schering, Burger King, Labatt and Air France accounts.
Mr. Filshill will collaborate closely with agency Director Gunther Saupe on daily operations as well as serve as regional director for Latin America business development, the agency says.
