APL's Cracknell moves to U.S. for creative project

Published on .

LONDON -- Andrew Cracknell, chairman of Ammirati Puris Lintas, London, is moving to the U.S. to work with Martin Puris, chairman, CEO and chief creative officer of APL Worldwide, on a specific project to "improve significantly" the network's creative product around the world.

Mr. Cracknell is expected to leave the company at the end of the year and take some time out.

As part of the shake up in London, William Eccleshare is promoted from chief executive to chairman, and Chris Thomas moves from managing director to chief executive. Mr. Eccleshare will remain regional director (Northern Europe) and continue to sit on the worldwide operating board.

All appointments are effective November 1.

Mr. Puris says Mr. Cracknell was ap- pointed in the London office as a "catalyst of change." He joined to "raise APL's profile, galvanize creative leadership and bring together a new generation of management." That job is now completed, he says, adding: "I need Andrew's considerable talents on the worldwide stage to help us to reach our goal to become a top five creative force in each market."
