Apple to break U.K. TV campaign for iMac

LONDON -- Apple Computer U.K. breaks on November 9 the second wave of advertising for its striking Bondi-blue iMac computer with a TV campaign entitled "E-mail." The ad, created by TBWA/Chiat Day, features actor Jeff Goldblum and focuses on increasing consumer interest in the Internet, especially E-mail.

The TV campaign is supported by ads on outside back covers of a number of weekend national newspaper supplements and 12-page inserts in technology and lifestyle magazines in the run up to Christmas. A direct mail campaign will target Apple's existing consumer customers encouraging them to visit their nearest Apple Reseller to test drive the iMac.

Martin Capel-Smith, U.K. head of marketing, says that as a result in "unprecedented" consumer interest in iMac, Apple U.K. has again increased its advertising spend this quarter.
