Apple connects with AT&T

Apple Computer and AT&T Corp. this morning said they will make Apple's QuickTime personal-computer conferencing technology compatible with AT&T WorldWorx Network Services, a global digital and video network. The move will allow QuickTime Conferencing-equipped Macintosh computers to communicate with other videoconferencing systems.

In a promotional gambit staged by Intel Corp. over the weekend, World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov beat a Pentium-powered PC. Pentium bested Kasparov in a chess match last fall, but man beat machine in the rematch over the weekend in Germany.
