Apple poaches Air France marketer for European role

PARIS--Apple Computer has snapped up Air France marketing headBruno Didier to spearhead marketing operations in Europe, MiddleEast and Africa.

The appointment of Mr. Didier ends Apple's six-month search fora European brand chief following the departure of his predecessor,Nigel Turner.

As VP-marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Didierwill be responsible for all marketing communications, product marketing and vertical marketing for the region.

"Bruno brings key marketing competence and business know-how toApple as we continue to strengthen our brand and grow our businessin a fast moving market," said Diego Piacentini, VP, Apple Europe.

Before Air France, Mr. Didier was the leader of the ProfessionalPC Division and VP-marketing at Compaq Europe. Prior experiencein the computer market includes stints at Compaq France and theConsumer Division of Texas Instruments.
