Applebee's International, Overland Park, Kansas, tapped Wunderman
Cato Johnson, Chicago, as its agency of record for promotion and merchandising without a review, the agency said. Applebee's, operator of 1,134 casual dining restaurants, is slated to double network TV spending to $37 million. Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, was named the creative agency for the brand in July.
