Applebee's International, Overland Park, Kan., is believed to have narrowed its search for an agency. No longer in the running for the $36 million restaurant account are New York shops Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/ Euro RSCG and Saatchi & Saatchi, as well as McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C. Also originally in the hunt were Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago; Richards Group, Dallas; Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas; and incumbent Wyse Advertising, Cleveland.
