Arden picks JWT

Elizabeth Arden Co., New York, as part of an effort to expand its marketing presence, hired J. Walter Thompson USA, New York, to handle advertising that had been in-house for a decade. JWT, one of the agencies for Arden parent Unilever, will launch a campaign for Arden in the fall. The effort will include TV and print advertising, promotions, and interactive marketing. The cosmetics and fragrance company spent $24 million in U.S. measured media in 1998, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
