Argentinean start-up breaks growth record

BUENOS AIRES -- Vega Olmos Ponce, Buenos Aires, achieved record growth among startup ad agencies in Argentina with a turnover of $11 million in its first 10 months of operation.

The agency was founded by Fernando Vega Olmos, the former shareholder and general creative manager for Casares Grey, and Hernan Ponce, formerly the general creative manager at Young & Rubicam.

The company expects to see its 1998 turnover reach $28 million with the accounts that the agency currently holds.

Vega Olmos Ponce employs 38 staff and currently handles 11 major clients, including Adidas, Audi, C&A, La Nacion (Argentina's main newspaper) and Samsung.
