Alan Pafenbach Helped Create 'Drivers Wanted' for VW

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- Alan Pafenbach, managing partner-executive creative director at Havas’ Arnold Worldwide, Boston, said he's leaving the agency at the end of 2005 after 18 years.

Mr. Pafenbach was on the team that helped win Volkswagen of America's account for Arnold a decade ago, when he became a key creative on the brand. He helped create VW’s longstanding "Drivers Wanted" campaign and the recent integrated launch for the redone Passat, which includes 120 short online films.

VW moved its account in the fall without a review to Crispin, Porter & Bogusky, Miami.

Mr. Pafenbach told AdAge.com he plans to take time off and do some consulting.

"Long-term I’d be looking for an opportunity to expand upon the integrated approach I developed for Volkswagen while at Arnold,” he said.
