ARNOLD WORLDWIDE TAKES GRAND PRIZE IN KELLY AWARDS

(May 23, 2001) -- Havas Advertising's Arnold Worldwide, Boston, won the $100,000 MPA Kelly Awards Grand Prize for its "Hey, There's A..." campaign for the new Volkswagen Beetle.

Arnold also claimed top honors for Best at Meeting Campaign Objectives and Best Idea/Concept.

Other winners were Interpublic Group of Cos.' Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, which took home Best Headline and Copy for the second straight year for its Harley-Davidson branding campaign. The shop led the Kelly Awards pack with four finalist citations. Omnicom Group's Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, won Best Design and Graphics for its work on Nike's women's shoes.

In 1999, Arnold won four major awards, including a Grand Prize, also for its Volkswagen work. -- Jon Fine
