Artel buys Weight Watchers classes

Artel Luxembourg, the private investment company that owns Keebler Co., Elmhurst, Ill., inked a $735 million deal to acquire from H.J. Heinz Co., Pittsburgh, its Weight Watchers classroom business. Senior Weight Watchers management is participating in the buyout; Heinz will retain a 6% interest. The Seiden Group, New York, is the agency for the classrooms; Lowe & Partners/SMS buys media.
