Artist's magazine debuts

Author and greeting card artist Mary Engelbreit is launching a magazine on home decorating and family. Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion will debut Sept. 24 and be published five times next year. It will be published by a joint venture that includes Universal Press Syndicate, the Mary Engelbreit Studios and Andrews & McMeel, which produces her "Little Books" and "Main Street Book" series. Publisher is Universal Press executive Tom Stites. Jessie Iverson, former publisher of American Homestyle, is the associate publisher. Rate base is 100,000; a one-time color page ad costs $6,000.
