*BOMBAY - Braun, Boston, Mass.-based Gillette Co.'s German appliance brand, launches its first range of hair care appliances in India; priced between $25 and $36, the Braun Supervolume, Braun Silencio PX 1200 and Braun Silencio P 1000 hair stylers will compete with Dutch marketer Philips India's products; Braun currently sells epilators for women and dry shavers for men in India.

*CANBERRA - The Australian Medical Association has attacked the Federal Government's decision to allow tobacco advertising at next January's Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne, although strictly limited to what's necessary "to meet existing international sponsorship contracts for teams or drivers"; all ads must carry a federal health warning similar to that on cigarette packs; all regular tobacco advertising is banned in Australia.
