Asset management company takes $14.7 mil stake in Harris Black

Brinson Partners, an asset management subsidiary of UBS AG, Chicago, July 15 took a $14.7 million minority stake in market researcher Harris Black International. Harris Black owns Louis Harris & Associates, which runs the Harris Poll. The company has also made steady forays into online research. It's conducting polls on Excite and, working with Excite's subsidiary MatchLogic, Harris Black has developed an opt-in panel of 700,000 Internet users.
