Published on .

Interactive company IXL, Atlanta, with funds from New York financier Kelso, acquired Boxtop Interactive, Los Angeles, this week for an undisclosed sum. Boxtop is IXL's fifth interactive acquisition and positions IXL as a major Southern player with expected revenues of $25 million from its offices in Atlanta; Charlotte, N.C; and Memphis, Tenn. Boxtop projected 1996-97 billings of $7.5 million from clients including Fox Networks, UPN and Mattel. President Kevin Wall said the IXL acquisition "gives us a larger base from which to access clients across the country." IXL is also said to be eyeing London and New York acquisitions.
