Australian telecom marketer joins U.S. net venture

MELBOURNE--Pat Duffy, former marketing boss ofAustralia's largest telecommunications company, Telstra,is joining Internet directory company LookSmart as VP-marketing. Ms. Duffy, who was responsible for Australia'slargest advertising account while at Telstra -- worth an estimated $100 million -- left the telecom on June 25 after four years. Established four years ago in Melbourne,LookSmart is now headquartered in San Francisco and plansto list on the U.S.' Nasdaq exchange in a bid to raise$150 million.
