(Sept. 4, 2001) -- Despite slowing in dietary supplement sales nationally in the past year, the Avon Wellness line of supplements, aromatherapy and home exercise products is selling well ahead of expectations and could reach first-year sales of $75 million, the marketer said.

Sales are running 50% ahead of initial projections of $50 million in first-year sales, Avon Products CEO Andrea Jung told analysts today on a conference call.

The line, sold through Avon distributors, mall kiosks and its catalog, is endorsed by tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams through a column in the Avon catalog. -- Jack Neff
