For all the talk of weak creative and overspending by Internet companies, the 1999 Advertising Age Best advertising award goes to one of these new kids on the block. But while there's room at the top for the likes of Monster.com's "When I grow up. . ." commercial and the Best Retail ad spot from Amazon.com, the Ad Age Best judges still found plenty of pop in advertising from more traditional marketers, including Adidas, Anheuser-Busch, ESPN, Heinz, Sony and Volkswagen.
