HOW AWARDS WERE TALLIED

Published on .

The ranking of the most creative networks was calculated by tallying commercials that won an award equivalent to a bronze or higher at the 45 leading international and national award competitions in 1995.

Each commercial done by a network-owned agency was assigned to that network. Only a network's main agency in each market was counted, due to the difficulty of identifying minority-owned agencies in some countries. Because of the large number of winning ads-the ranking is based on 1,500 awards for TV commercials-print work wasn't included this year.

Agencies without networks were not eligible for the ranking; however, in recognition of the creative track record of agencies like Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Wieden & Kennedy, a separate chart ranks the top-scoring non-network agencies.
