Axel Springer jumps online in urban Germany

German publishing house Axel Springer is pumping $14 million into a new online service scheduled to launch on November 30 in the highly populated areas of Hamburg and Berlin.

"Go on" will provide political, business and sports news from all over the world and will carry recruitment, property, car and lonely hearts ads. Springer is planning for 15,000 subscribers by the end of 1997 and intends to extend the service into Leipzig, Luebeck and Kiel during the following year.
