Ayer Europe officials met with executives from independent Springer & Jacoby, Hamburg, to discuss the possible sale of the Ayer network to the German agency. Neither agency would comment, though German and Spanish sources confirm that talks have begun. Ayer Europe handles Beiersdorf and Volkswagen's Spanish unit SEAT through agencies here and in London, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Budapest, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon. Springer, with 1994 billings of $312 million, handles DeTeMobil telephone company, Miele washing machines and German mail order company Quelle, as well as Mercedes-Benz, which would be its only conflict with Ayer.
Capital Cities/ABC and Spectrum HoloByte formed a joint-venture company to develop and produce interactive game software for personal computers and videogame machines using the ABC Sports brand.
