Schroer and Murphy Go to Chrysler

Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Mich., has confirmed that Jim Schroer, VP-global marketing, and George Murphy,

Two key Ford execs exit to Chrysler
general marketing manager of Ford Division, resigned their posts Feb. 19. A spokesman said the vacant jobs would be filled, but that it's too early to name successors.

Meanwhile, DaimlerChrysler's Chrysler Group said it hired the two executives for key marketing posts at the company's Auburn Hills, Mich, facility.

A third key Ford exec, Robert Rewey, group VP-marketing and sales, is believed to be retiring soon; the Ford spokesman said Mr. Rewey's retirement "is not imminent." Attempts to reach several contacts at DaimlerChrysler were unsuccessful.

Mr. Schroer joined Ford in October 1996 as exec director of the new marketing strategy and brand management office. He was promoted to his last post in June 1999. Mr. Murphy joined Ford Division in early 1999 from GE Lighting, where he had been VP-worldwide product management.
