(Aug. 3, 2001) -- Bacardi USA consolidated its media agency-of-record responsibilities in the U.S. with Interpublic Group of Cos.' Universal McCann New York, effective immediately. The assignment covers broadcast, print and interactive media.

Billings are estimated at $40 to $45 million.

The previous agency was Publicis Groupe's Optimedia International U.S. Key brands included in the assignment are Bacardi Light Rum, Bacardi Limon, Bacardi O, Dewar's Scotch, Bombay Sapphire, Martini & Rossi Asti and Drambuie. -- Richard Linnett
