BackWeb expands in Europe

Published on .

Push technology company BackWeb Technologies tapped Marc Kawam as managing director of a new European headquarters, scheduled to open in Brussels this summer. BackWeb plans to deliver its French and German versions of its software for Internet/intranet broacast channels within the next 60 days.

Volvo Cars of Sweden and The Jerusalem Post have set up BackWeb channels, and Dutch value-added reseller Kender Business Communications is helping its customers set up BackWeb channels. Volvo's channel, unveiled in January, lets car aficionados download a picture of the new Volvo C70 and use it as screen saver or wallpaper, or receive a film clip about the new convertible.
