Dennis Hopper gets religion-well, sort of-in the latest execution of his new series of commercials for Nike's Air Mission cross-training shoe. In the spot-with a break date still undetermined-Mr. Hopper is shown in a parking lot, standing beside an Air Mission altar and "singing" a manic ode to the upcoming National Football League season. One version includes footage of football players in action; the other doesn't. Two other spots from Wieden & Kennedy, Portland, Ore., in which the actor reprises his crazed football referee role broke during the first two games of the National Basketball Association finals. Those commercials featured NFL players Junior Seau and Sterling Sharpe.
