Microsoft Corp. will break another TV spot April 30 to influence public opinion amid its on-going antitrust woes. The 30-sec. spot, "Technology & the Economy," features Steve Ballmer, the company's president and CEO, talking about how the PC has changed people's lives for the better. "Innovation is spreading through our economy," Mr. Ballmer says in the spot. "It's creating new jobs, changing our lives and helping children learn." Mr. Ballmer goes on to suggest that technology is fueling America's economy. The work was produced by Microsoft's agency of record, McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York and San Francisco. It will run in prime-time network programming for one week, according to spokesman Dan Leach. Chairman Bill Gates appeared in a Microsoft TV spot just three weeks ago.
