Bank of Ireland to sponsor Special Olympics

DUBLIN--Ireland's biggest commercial bank, The Bank of Ireland, is investing $5 million to sponsor the Special Olympics, which will be hosted by Ireland in 2003. The deal is the biggest sponsorship of a single event in Ireland. About $3 million of the total is to go directly to sponsoring the games and the remainder will be spent on marketing and advertising around the event, which has a global audience.
