BARCLAYS GLOBAL SEEKS NEW AD AGENCY

(June 11, 2001) -- Barclays Global Investors, San Francisco, is searching for a new advertising agency to replace Saatchi & Saatchi, San Francisco, after the office announced it will close in August. Saatchi had handled the $10 million to $20 million account for the money manager's I-Shares mutual funds. Paul Nobile, director of advertising, said he wants an integrated agency with a strong San Francisco presence to handle multiple media for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer efforts. Mr. Nobile said he has met with several agencies and will send requests for proposals to a short list next week; the search will wrap up in August. -- Mercedes Cardona
