Barnes & Noble, New York, narrowed the list of finalists for its $35 million creative assignment to three or four agencies. Still believed to be in the pitch are Deutsch, DDB Needham Worldwide and TBWA Chiat/Day, all New York. Incumbent Weiss, Whitten, Stagliano, New York, did not participate.
