Bates appoints Terzis to lead Brown & Williamson creative

Bates USA, New York, said Jon J. Terzis will head the creative team assigned to its recently won Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. assignments. Bates has Lucky Strike and is adding Kool and Capri brand cigarettes in an account consolidation. Mr. Terzis, 45, was recruited from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Corp. agency Mezzina/Brown, New York, where he had been group creative director on the Camel account. At Bates, he will be a senior VP-group creative director. In other Bates personnel moves, Mark Webb, 39, joined the agency as VP-associate creative director from Grey Advertising, New York, where he held the same title. Bates VP Ronald Wachino, 42, was promoted to creative director from associate creative director.
