The appointment follows a three-way pitch including Saatchi & Saatchi and TBWA GGT Simons Palmer.
Bates' brief is to launch a new range of Hoover washing machines and a new vacuum cleaner in major European markets including the U.K., Germany, France, Spain and Italy. The agency is also picking up $4 million worth of business for Vortex, Hoover's vacuum cleaner sub-brand.
Bates' below-the-line subsidiary 141 will produce brochures and point of sale material.
