Reduced Client Spending Cited for Layoffs

By Published on .

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- The Chicago office of BBDO Worldwide cut at least 10 staffers, or 5% of its 210-person workforce, on Wednesday, citing reduced client spending.

It was the first staff reduction for the Omnicom Group agency since Tonise Paul, president-CEO, took over the shop in 1995.

Until now, the agency has managed the revenue downturn hitting the ad industry through attrition, a spokesman said.
