(Aug. 15, 2001) -- Ken Mandelbaum, who has been executive vice president-creative director for Omnicom Group's BBDO/West, San Francisco, for two and a half years, has left the agency.

Mr. Mandelbaum started in New York before working with Hal Riney & Partners, San Francisco. He eventually opened his own shop, Mandelbaum Mooney Ashley. Before joining BBDO, he also worked as a director of commercials and developed films.

At BBDO, Jim Lesser, senior vice president-associate creative director, has been promoted to creative director and will supervise the agency's Los Angeles and San Francisco offices.

Mr. Mandelbaum, whose plans are uncertain, was on vacation and unavailable for comment. -- Alice Z. Cuneo
