The agency declined to comment.

The layoffs, which represented about 3% of the 600-person staff, cut across all levels, disciplines and departments, the executive said. In the past few months, BBDO has lost about $200 million in billings from Yum Brands' KFC, $25 million from Frito Lay's Tostitos, and $25 million from Unilever's Caress.

Earlier this week, the New York office announced that President-CEO Bill Katz would leave following the search for a successor.
