BBH wins dot-com task to promote free software for creating online communities

LONDON--Moonfruit.com, an Internet start-up offering a free inter-active toolkit to create group Web sites, has named Bartle Bogle Hegarty,London, to handle its offline and online brand advertising. London-basedMotive Communications is handling media for the $4.8 million account to build brand awareness.

The client uses special software to enable individuals or groups to set up their own Web sites and build online communities around their interests.

Moonfruit.com plans to launch the site in Europe in mid 2000. The venture says it has secured financial backing from Bainlab, the Internet investment arm of management consultancy Bain & Co.

Moonfruit.com had been in discussions with Mustoe Merriman, London, on the creative account and New PhD, BMP OMD on the media business.
