Beautyjungle.com shuts down

Published on .

Online cosmetics retailer Beautyjungle.com shut down Nov. 15, citing inadequate financing to help the company turn a profit. The Chicago-based company will lay off 30 people in Chicago, New York and Indianapolis, keeping a small staff to handle the liquidation of assets. In addition to its consumer operations, Beautyjungle also operated Beautywall.com, which sells cosmetics to small manufacturers. The beauty products e-tail space has been hit hard: Sephora.com said it would acquire the assets of beauty site Eve.com, which shuttered recently.
