Big Interpublic PR buy clears hurdle

Shareholders of International Public Relations, London, parent of Shandwick and Golin/Harris, approved the sale of the company to Interpublic Group of Cos., New York. The acquisition was first announced in July, when it was described as a stock swap transaction worth approximately $170 million. The purchase, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close Oct. 6.
