HARTFORD, Conn.-Heublein will introduce superpremium Smirnoff Black vodka in nine states before full national distribution in October. Interactive ads, created by Cairns & Associates, New York, will appear in publications such as Advertising Age and The Wall Street Journal over the next few weeks. Grybauskas-Beatrice bought media.

Ads carry a phone number consumers can call to win Smirnoff merchandise, and announce events at New York bars where the crowning of industry "czars" will take place.

Legendary adman Jerry Della Femina is to be named czar of Madison Avenue. Between $8 million and $10 million has been budgeted for a similar print campaign in October, via Lowe & Partners/SMS.
