SAN FRANCISCO-Visa USA launched new TV commercials for its Visa Gold card on July 19, featuring singer Elton John.

The 30- and 60-second spots will run on network and cable TV, including MTV: Music Television and VH1: Video Hits One. They take a humorous look how many people it takes to put on a major concert. Mr. John is forced to use his gold card to pay for hotel rooms for his entire entourage.

The $5 million campaign from BBDO Worldwide, New York, which includes similar print and radio advertising, will run through October.
